Welcome to the Townsville Metal Detecting Club Website
The Townsville Metal Detecting Club aims to foster an interest in prospecting for gold, and searching for coins and relics throughout North Queensland.
Weekend trips to goldfields in the region each month, allow members to spend time fossicking for gold, and enjoying the company of people with similar interests, while providing safety for everyone, and help for inexperienced prospectors.
General meetings are held to discuss business, and social meetings allow members to show finds and enjoy casual discussion of all aspects of the hobby. Treasure hunts are held twice a year as social events so members can enjoy a relaxed family day while competing in light-hearted competitions for token prizes.
