The Townsville Metal Detecting Club has a library containing books, magazines, newsletters and maps for the use of members. Enquiries can be made to the clubs librarian.

Trips are conducted monthly and permission from landowners is sought before each trip
For each trip the club appoints a Field Officer who ensures the safety of members and the protection of the landowners property. A fossicking permit is held by the club for club endorsed trips.

The club is an incorporated body and holds a public liability insurance policy to protect members from risk in the event of loss incurred by a third party.
